Miner praise
If you’ve been watching the Chilean miners return safely to the surface you may have seen some of them wearing a t-shirt. What caught my eye was the the front of the shirt, “Gracias Senor.” Translated …”Thanks Lord.” Something very powerful happened 1/2 mile below the surface of the earth. God was active in a good way in that mine.
The back of the shirt quotes Ps 95:4 “Porque en su mano estan las profundidades de la tierra, Y las alturas delos montes son suyas.” Translated (NIV) In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. And they add, “De El es las Honra Y la Gloria.” Or “To God be the honor and the Glory.”
These guys can speak to us powerfully about God’s hand holding the depth of the earth. I can’t wait to hear the great stories of God’s goodness to these 33 men.
Mario Sepulveda was one of the miners who has had a spiritual experience. In the linked article by CNN they quote him, “During the time he was trapped inside the mine, Sepulveda said, he saw both good and evil. I was with God, and I was with the devil. They fought, and God won,” he said. http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/americas/10/13/chile.miners.voices/index.html
May God continue to get the honor and the glory as more of this story comes to light.
