Continue to Love
Here’s a great reminder to love another from the Word.
1 John 4:12 NIV
No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
Love is so powerful. Think of what it can do. It binds us together. It encourages. It helps us to be more than we can be on our own.
But here’s one added benefit …by love we have an experience of God himself in our hearts. We may it see him but we can experience him in our souls!
Then I bumped into this verse.
2 John 1:5 NIV
And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.
What is pushed here by the Apostle John is to continue in love. He tells the dear lady, “thus isn’t a new command.” In other words you know what you are to do…love. Love takes so much for us to do: energy, willingness, humility, strength. Love means persevering throughout our lives.
Do we have the strength, the fortitude to continue in a life of love? Only through God’s grace are we able.
Enjoy.
