Day four: John chapter 2
As I read this morning I started thinking about 2 big themes Jesus launches his ministry on.
The first one we see is in the story of changing water into wine. I think the big idea here is transformation. Jesus’ ministry is going to be the about transforming people. He’s going to make something ordinary extraordinary. That excites me about what he’s going to do in me.
The second theme is about cleansing. Jesus came to deal with our sin. This is radical surgery. We need desperate help by the Saviour to cleanse us.
So the big idea from this chapter for me Jesus is about transformation. It is a beautiful thing to see how we end up but it will also involve Jesus taking on my sin.
